IV. Béla Király emlékezet

Magyarországot az 1241-42-es tatár "sorscsapás" alól kivezető, gyakorlatilag újjáteremtő királyunk, IV. Béla 1206-ban született. Testvérével, Imre királlyal sorozatosan trónharcot vívó II. Endre és a német, merániai tragikus sorsú Gertrúd elsőszülött fiaként már nyolcéves korában királlyá, azaz ifjabb királlyá koronázták.

 

1218-ban a keresztes hadjáratokból sikertelenül visszatért apja hozta magával a nikeai császár leányát, Laszkarisz Máriát; a hozzá haláláig, 1270-ig hûséges társát. IV. Béla elõbb macsói, szlavón, horvát-dalmán hercegként, majd királyként, 1226-tól erdélyi királyként nagyudvartartás élén, igazi királyként kormányozta a rábízott országrésznyi, 50 km2nél is több területet.
